Winger Leroy Sané is travelling to the United States with Bayern Munich for the Club World Cup despite his puzzling contract situation.

Sané was included in the 29-man squad published by Bayern on Tuesday ahead of their departure to Orlando, where they will set up their base camp for the tournament.

Sané's contract expires on June 30, while the Club World Cup runs from June 14 to July 13.

The 29-year-old recently turned down a contract extension that would have kept him in Munich until 2028, according to reports.

Bayern were pushing for clarity before heading to the US, but it's still unclear whether Sané plans to stay or move on.

A first part of the squad, including Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller and Jamal Musiala, is travelling on Tuesday. Players who were or are still on duty with their national teams, such as Harry Kane, will join up with the squad in the coming days.

Bayern face Auckland City on Sunday in their first match. Other group stage games are against Boca Juniors on June 21 and Benfica on June 24.
