Scottie Scheffler's Candid Personal Confession on Wife Meredith and Son Bennett

Scottie Scheffler's Candid Personal Confession on Wife Meredith and Son Bennett originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Scottie Scheffler came back to the course after an almost two-week break at The Renaissance Club on Tuesday. His last appearance at the pro scene was at the Travelers Championship, where he finished tied in sixth position.

His appearance yesterday was even more special because his whole family came with him. Scheffler marched in holding son Bennett while wife Meredith followed close behind.

This event means more to the World No. 1 due to the amount of time he gets to spend with his family. He detailed that at a press conference on Wednesday.

"This is a fun week for us. We get to stay very close to the course." Scheffler said. "So it's nice for them to be able to walk out and hang out with me for a couple holes. That's something we very rarely get to do."

"Yesterday, there were no fans, so it was nice to relax and have Meredith come and hang for a couple holes. At tournament weeks, you don't get a bunch of time at home so it's nice for them to come out and hang out a little bit." he added.

Meredith has been the biggest supporter of the PGA Champion. Scheffler's main priority now is spending the most amount of time with her and Bennett. Golf comes second.

"With the stage of life I'm in...I don't get the pleasure of traveling with my family week-to-week. So when I get time off between tournaments, more golf is something I'd like to do, but it's not my priority," he said.

"My family is my priority and there will be times later in my career where I have hopefully some free time. But if my wife and son are here, I want to spend time with them instead."
