SD track sweeps Indy Genesis, Southwestern

South Decatur hosted Indy Genesis and Southwestern (Shelby) in track action Thursday. South prevailed in both team competitions.

The Lady Cougars tallied 75 points to take first place Genesis was second with 65 and Southwestern had 5. For the boys, the Cougars edged Genesis 69-66. The Spartans finished with 18.

North Decatur

The North Decatur track and field teams traveled to Fairland to the 8-team Triton Central Invitational Friday. North had a solid night with several personal bests set.

For the girls, Oldenburg Academy won the team title with 126 points. Triton Central was second with 108 followed by North 84, Indianapolis Lutheran 78, Herron 76, South Ripley 74 and Cambridge City Lincoln 17. For the boys, Triton Central took top honors with 151 followed by South Ripley 86, Herron 83, North 74, Oldenburg 74, Lutheran 54, Lincoln 44 and Edinburgh 6.

North’s Madi Allen was a double winner, taking the 300 hurdles and the high jump. Posting personal best for the Lady Chargers included Nora Amberger in the 1600, Sarah Moeller in the 300 hurdles, Ellie Metz in the discus, Sara Litmer in the shot put, Mallory Dehaven in the 3200, Lauren Miller in the 3200 and the 4x800 relay team of Ava Lecher, Miller, Dehaven, and Amberger.

South Decatur

South Decatur traveled to Waldron Saturday for the Mohawk Invitational. For the girls, Switzerland County won the team title with 145 points. Morristown was second with 70 followed by Blue River Valley 58, Union County 55, South 50, Hauser 49, Waldron 19 and Anderson Prep 12.

For the boys, the host Mohawks won the title with 97 points followed by Switzerland County 77, Blue River Valley 66, South 56, Anderson Prep 54, Hauser 52, Morristown 38 and Union County 25.
