Shemar Stewart's comments about Bengals standoff revisited after report
Now that a report has detailed Shemar Stewart's reason for a contract impasse with the Cincinnati Bengals, looping back to his public comments seems like a good idea.
Last week while meeting with the media around practices, Stewart said that he doesn't think his side is being unreasonable.
"I'm not asking for anything crazy," Stewart told ESPN's Ben Baby. "I'm not even asking for nothing. I just want things to be consistent. I just want consistent language as in the past contracts. I just won't practice until I get that."

Based on the reporting, the Bengals are apparently using Stewart's contract as a launching pad to change how they do contractual language around the voiding of guarantees.
True or not, most reporting has hinted that the Bengals are the party dragging their feet here around minor details that don't align with how they've handled past first-round contracts.
Stewart has responded by not partaking in practice yet, which is unusual even for first-round rookies without deals officially signed yet.
Based on Stewart's comments and Cincinnati's history as stubborn on contract fronts and immune to outside notise, this one could drag on for a while.
