Tennessee Titans' rookie wide receiver named a potential under-the-radar star
With offseason team activities winding down and teams preparing for their final minicamp before starting their summer break, it is time for coaching staffs and front offices to sit back and evaluate their offseasons. Not only will this help prepare the team for training camp, but it will also enable them to make some last-minute roster adjustments to enhance the team.
The Tennessee Titans have made some significant changes during the offseason, and some position groups look entirely different from what they were in 2024. That’s the case with the wide receiver unit, where outside of Calvin Ridley, the depth chart has been completely turned over.
Tennessee added veterans Van Jefferson and Tyler Lockett in free agency, and then followed that by selecting Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor during the 2025 NFL draft. Throw in signing Miami wide receiver Xavier Restrepo as an undrafted rookie free agent, and this will now be an entertaining group to watch jockey for position during training camp.
This is also a unit that must make a big jump in 2025. The Titans must get more production out of their receiving corps to take some pressure off the running game, and Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports believes one of the young receivers could make a surprising impact in 2025.
Tennessee Titans - WR Elic Ayomanor
The fourth-round rookie has been impressing throughout the early portions of OTAs. If he can keep that up, he could crash the party inside Tennessee's wide receiver room. Currently, Calvin Ridley, Tyler Lockett, and Van Jefferson make up the top of the receiver masthead, but Lockett and Jefferson could easily be unseated, especially if someone like Ayomanor bursts onto the scene.
Ayomanor was widely regarded as a steal and one of the Titans' best draft selections, with many outlets having him slotted as an early-round prospect. While he does have some areas he must clean up and his hands can be inconsistent at times, his natural abilities on the outside give him a chance to step in and make an impact.
Ayomanor's size, speed, and overall skill set make him an intriguing complement to Calvin Ridley. He has been a consistent target throughout OTAs. He may not start Week 1, but he will likely make an impact as a rookie.
