Texas A&M announces 2026 Leadership Council selections

One of the defining traits of a Mike Elko program is accountability. But accountability only works when it’s player‑driven, not just coach‑directed. That’s why leadership inside the locker room matters just as much as the standards set by the staff. With that in mind, Texas A&M players have selected their Leadership Council for the 2026 season.

The council consists of 11 players chosen by their peers to represent the program on and off the field. For Elko, this group serves as the connective tissue between the coaching staff and the roster setting expectations, reinforcing culture, and ensuring the team’s internal voice stays strong.

It’s also a meaningful developmental opportunity. Not every Aggie will play football professionally, but Texas A&M has long sold itself on preparing young men for life beyond the game. Serving on the Leadership Council gives these players hands‑on experience with communication, accountability, conflict resolution, and decision‑making, skills that will carry far beyond Kyle Field.

Here are the 11 players selected to lead Texas A&M in 2026.

  • WR - Isaiah Horton
  • DE - Anto Saka
  • LB - Daymion Sanford
  • QB - Marcel Reed
  • CB - Jordan Shaw
  • WR Terry Bussey
  • DE - Marco Jones
  • LN - Noah Mikhail
  • QB - Brady Hart
  • WR - Aaron Gregory
  • OL Zaden Krempin
