Travis Hunter, Jaguars starters won't play in preseason finale vs. Dolphins

The Jacksonville Jaguars held Travis Hunter out of the team portion of Thursday's joint practice against the Miami Dolphins as he continues to work through an upper-body injury.

According to John Shipley of Jaguars on SI, Hunter did go through the individual period with the receivers, but did not do any 11-on-11 work.

Hunter did not practice last Friday, following the team's offense vs. defense scrimmage the day before. He then missed the Jaguars' preseason game against New Orleans. Hunter did return to practice on Tuesday and Wednesday in a limited capacity.

"It was more just do we want him now or potentially not [playing against] Carolina [in Week 1]," Liam Coen said, via ESPN. "It was more just being smart about the next few weeks because the ultimate goal is Carolina."

This decision on the Jaguars' part not to have Hunter practice seems to be precautionary.

"Could he have probably gone? I think so," Coen added. "If this was Carolina, would he have probably played? Yeah, so we're moving in the right direction."

None of the Jaguars' starters, including Hunter, will play in the preseason finale on Saturday against Miami.
