Two former Vols combine for 23 points in Detroit-Charlotte game

Detroit (39-13) defeated Charlotte (25-29), 110-104, Monday at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Two former Tennessee basketball players competed in the contest, while one was inactive.

Tobias Harris started and played 35 minutes for the Pistons. He totaled 11 points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. Harris converted 4-of-11 field goal attempts, 1-of-4 three-point attempts and 2-of-2 free throw attempts.

Grant Williams recorded 12 points, five assists, two rebounds, one steal and one block in 25 minutes for the Hornets. He converted 3-of-6 field goal attempts, 2-of-3 three-point attempts and 4-of-4 free-throw attempts.

Rookie Chaz Lanier was inactive for Detroit.

Harris played one season at Tennessee (2010-11) under head coach Bruce Pearl. He averaged 15.3 points and 7.3 assists per game. Harris was a Second-Team All-SEC performer and a member of the SEC All-Freshman Team.

The former Vol was selected in the first round of the 2011 NBA draft (No. 19 overall) by the Charlotte Bobcats. In his NBA career, Harris has played for Milwaukee (2011-13), Orlando (2013-16), Detroit (2016-18, 2024-25), the Clippers (2018-19) and Philadelphia (2019-24).

Williams played at Tennessee from 2016-19. He was a two-time SEC Player of the Year, 2019 NCAA unanimous first team All-American and a two-time SEC Player of the Year.

On May 17, 2019, Williams announced he would forgo his senior season and enter the NBA draft. He was selected by Boston in the first round of the 2019 NBA draft (No. 22 overall).

Williams appeared in 104 games, including 101 starts, for the Vols and averaged 15.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
