UFC flyweight Ramazan Temirov suspended one year for banned substance
UFC flyweight Ramazan Temirov will be ineligible to compete until next summer.
Wednesday, the UFC announced Temirov (19-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has accepted a 12-month suspension after failing a pair of out-of-competition tests submitted to Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) on June 12 and July 4. Temirov tested positive for trimetazidine (TMZ), a prohibited substance used to treat heart failure and other cardiac conditions, under the class of hormone and metabolic modulators on the UFC anti-doping list.
According to the statement from CSAD, Temirov was prescribed the drug by a doctor for a medical condition and used it for a short period of time. However, he failed to check if the substance was on the banned list, which led to his suspension. There is no expected performance-enchancing benefit from the use of the banned substance.
Temirov, 28, will be eligible to return July 5, 2026.
Temirov debuted in the promotion at UFC Fight Night 244, where he earned a Performance of the Night bonus for a first-round TKO finish of CJ Vergara. In his sophomore appearance at UFC Fight Night 253, he won a unanimous decision against Charles Johnson.
