UNC Asheville Athletics releases refreshed branding, including new bulldog logo
UNC Asheville sports have a brand-new look.
UNC Asheville Athletics released five new logos June 3, including a new-look bulldog and a fresh lettermark, announcing a refreshed logo and brand for the school's athletic programs.
"This is a landmark day for Bulldog Athletics as we proudly introduce our revitalized logo and brand," athletic director Janet R. Cone said in a news release. "This new logo not only enhances our department's image, but it also embodies our commitment to 'Dream Bigger. Achieve More.'"
The rebrand took 10 months and continued during the recovery from Tropical Storm Helene, according to the release. The new look features three colors – Bulldog Blue, Process Black and white.
The new logo separates the bulldog from the "A" lettermark, although the school's new primary logo features the Bulldog icon with the "A" lettermark on a dog tag. The bulldog pulls from past logos, according to the release, and creates a "more serious persona" with a closed mouth.
The new lettermark highlights the French Broad and Swannanoa Rivers while featuring a point inside the letter "A" to highlight the Blue Ridge Mountains.
An additional logo features the Bulldog icon and the secondary UNC Asheville wordmark on top of mountains, while the school also released a new "AVL" logo.
