‘Vallejos is a monster!’: Pros react to Kevin Vallejos decimating Josh Emmett in UFC Vegas 114 main event

Kevin Vallejos has arrived.

If there was any doubt that Vallejos is a star in the making, it was all but erased Saturday as he ran through longtime featherweight contender Josh Emmett in the UFC Vegas 114 main event. This was Vallejos’ first headlining opportunity and the 24-year-old didn’t disappoint, styling on Emmett for the bulk of the contest before finding the knockout with a relentless flurry of striking techniques with less than 90 seconds remaining in Round 1.

Buzz has built around Vallejos since he fought tooth-and-nail in a losing effort against Jean Silva in his first Contender Series bid and only grew when he secured a contract on his second try with a knockout of Cam Teague. From there, Vallejos won his first three UFC fights and now has back-to-back knockout victories over veterans Emmett and Giga Chikadze.

Pros were dazzled on social media, with Gilbert Burns stating simply, “Vallejos is a monster!” and former UFC champion Belal Muhammad suggesting he rematch Silva next.
