Vikings bring back a running back for the third time after Aaron Jones' injury
The Minnesota Vikings, for what seems like every year now, have ended up creating a reunion with Cam Akers whenever he becomes available. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah appears to have the trust to go back to him, and he has consistently been productive within the system that Kevin O'Connell and Wes Phillips have instituted.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Vikings general manager went back to the well and collected Akers to be brought back into the fold.
Adam Schefter reported the news, and it was met with positive reactions across social media. The move was made following the injury to the veteran Aaron Jones, who was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Akers joins Jordan Mason and Zavier Scott as the healthy running backs on the roster, as the team was already down Ty Chandler.

Akers isn't likely to have a major role in the offense, but he could see some third-down and goal-line snaps, given the reliability and consistency he has shown over time.
