WATCH: NBA legends Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter inspire Bills rookies
When it was announced that NBA Hall of Famers Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter were buying stakes in the Buffalo Bills as limited partners, many wondered if they would have an impact on the team that goes beyond money.
In their first offseason as minority owners, they are doing just that. They recently addressed Bills rookies, giving advice as to who to lean on and how to go about business as a young player trying to make a difference in the pros.
Sure, the NBA and the NFL are different, but with 37 combined seasons in the NBA and 15 all-star-game appearances, the duo may know a thing or two about being a pro athlete. The two played together for the Toronto Raptors for two years.
Carter addressed Bills media recently, expressing his desire to give insight to Bills players when applicable.
"If I'm going to be here and be a part of it, that's just me being a veteran in general... that's just what I know," Carter said. "Communication, conversation, and just the edge for young guys more than anything... understanding the professional life, the preparation, and what you have to go through and the daily grind... it's moreso just how you go about it."
