Good morning, BBN!

Well, that was an ugly game to watch last night.

It started off so strong. The Kentucky Wildcats seemed to have picked up right where they left off against Vanderbilt, gaining a 30-18 lead with about nine minutes left in the first half.

Then, Mark Pope decided to play five reserves at the same time.

Texas A&M went on a 13-0 run to take the lead, before any subs were made, and by the time they were, it was too late as the momentum had completely shifted.

The Aggies then went on to end the half on a 27-3 run, essentially ending the game before the second half.

I don’t understand this team, and I’m not sure anyone does.

All this to say, today was a swift reminder as to why it was time for Mitch Barnhart to go.

From the construction of this team to the lack of understanding of how the game is won in today’s NIL age, not on the court or field, but in the administration office, it was time for a much-needed change.

Football and Men’s Basketball might actually be UK’s two worst sports on campus right now. While that’s a slight exaggeration, it’s not too far off.

He was a great AD until he wasn’t, and sadly, it lasted too long.

Kentucky needs someone who is ready to lead all of UK Athletics into the new era of College Sports. If they don’t get this hire right, it could mean disaster for the whole program.

Tweet of the Day:

It sure does, Tyler. It sure does.
