West Ham boss Nuno delivers verdict on Axel Disasi debut

Chelsea loanee Axel Disasi made his West Ham debut in their win against Burnley on Saturday afternoon, with manager Nuno Espirito Santo impressed.
Disasi joined West Ham on loan on deadline day in the January window, having not played first team football since last season.
The Frenchman had featured for Chelsea’s development side to try and work on his match fitness, and had trained with the first team on occasions.

Having not played first team football since his loan spell in the second half of last season at Aston Villa, Disasi was chucked in at the deep end.
He was handed his debut in the heart of the Hammers defence that kept a clean sheet, in a vital 2-0 win in their quest for Premier League survival.

Disasi impressively completed the full 90 minutes, and Nuno revealed after the game what he thought of Disasi’s performance.
“We were solid. We were very, very strong in our box. Axel, Dino, Aaron, Malick, Scarles, they did a good job containing Burnley,” he told his post-match press conference.
According to FotMob Disasi had 67 touches, competed 56 out of 58 passes, created three chances, had six out of eight accurate long balls, recorded one block, made three recoveries and four clearances.
Frenchman expected to leave Chelsea in the summer
Disasi’s Chelsea career is very much over, but he’s unlikely to remain at West Ham if they get relegated to the Championship.

Disasi had attracted interest from the likes of Lyon and Roma, and there’s no doubt he’ll have plenty of suitors in the summer, especially if he does well over the second half of the season.
Chelsea paid about £38.5m to Monaco for the 27-year-old, and it will be interesting to see what fee they are able to get for the France international.
