Will the Commanders buy or sell at the NFL trade deadline? What player could be available?

As the November 4 NFL trade deadline approaches, might a certain Washington Commander be traded?

Tuesday, November 4, at 4 p.m. ET is the day of this year's annual NFL trade deadline. So, if you had to think for a minute, are there a couple of Commanders players you could imagine being traded? It's no secret GM Adam Peters would welcome picking up a draft pick or two for the 2026 NFL draft. In addition, what player(s) do you think Peters might be considering trading?

The name that first comes to mind for me is Brandon Coleman. No, I haven't given up on Coleman at all. I realize Chris Paul was looking better in practice, and the coaches wanted to give him a shot, which he has performed well, seizing his opportunity. An issue might be whether there is a team out there needing a guard who might contact the Commanders to see if Peters wants to trade Coleman for a Day 3 pick?

Is Coleman in some sort of dog house with Quinn? Well, we don't yet know, but what we do know is that Coleman hasn't been merely benched. He has been made inactive for three consecutive weeks. That much we do know. We also know that when Quinn didn't like Jahan Dotson's MO during practice, he and Peters agreed to ship him. Consequently, how could you rule out that they might trade Coleman?

Remember how they raved about Coleman's metrics at the 2025 NFL Combine? Coleman is athletic; he moves well for a man of his size, weighing 315 pounds. Keep in mind, if there is an injury in the next three weeks, Coleman's value to the Commanders suddenly escalates, and he would no longer be inactive. Thus, the likelihood of trading Coleman would greatly decrease.

But for now, something has certainly transpired. Might it be his practice habits? We just don't know at this point, but four weeks ago, would a single one of us ever have dreamed Coleman would be inactive three consecutive weeks?
