Yankees Fans Excited After Major News on Friday originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

The Los Angeles Angels had the New York Yankees' number for three straight games, but the latter team woke up on Thursday. New York won 7-3 to snap its six-game losing streak, and it was its highest-scoring performance since June 10.

The Yankees were shut out three straight times during the streak, including twice by the Angels. They then lost 3-2 on Wednesday before finally winning on Thursday.

New York is now 2.5 games ahead of the Tampa Bay Rays atop the AL East and a half-game ahead of the Houston Astros for the AL's second seed. Additionally, its pitching staff is getting healthier, via its social media.

The Yankees reinstated right-handed reliever Luke Weaver (hamstring) from the 15-day IL before Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles.

The 31-year-old is 1-1 with a 1.05 ERA over 24 appearances this season and has converted eight of his nine save opportunities. He also has six holds.

New York fans are happy on social media.

"The people’s closer is back," one person said.

"WEAVER'S WORLD BABY," another said.

"WORLD SERIES BACK ON", another said.

"BEST NEWS ALL DAY," another said.

"WELCOME BACK WEAVE DAWG," another said.

Weaver was designated for assignment by the Seattle Mariners on Sept. 10, 2023, and the Yankees claimed him off waivers two days later. The journeyman started three games before they converted him to a reliever last season, when he went 7-3 with a 2.89 ERA over 62 appearances. He also converted all four of his save opportunities and had 22 holds.
