Arizona men’s basketball’s reign atop the Associated Press poll ended Monday after the Wildcats dropped a pair of games last week.

Arizona (23-2) fell to No. 4 in this week’s rankings, an expected tumble after losing on the road to Kansas and at home to Texas Tech. Arizona led the AP poll for nine straight weeks, the longest streak in program history.

Michigan leads the rankings, followed by No. 2 Houston and No. 3 Duke. Arizona is ranked above No. 5 UConn, who the Wildcats beat in a top-five matchup in November.

Now comes another top-five matchup Saturday against the second-ranked Cougars. First Arizona must get by No. 23 BYU, which just lost senior Richie Saunders for the year due to a torn ACL.

Other Big 12 teams ranked this week are No. 6 Iowa State, No. 8 Kansas, and No. 13 Texas Tech.

Arizona still has to host Iowa State and Kansas.

The UA is currently No. 3 in the NCAA NET Rankings. Arizona has nine Quad 1 wins, tied with Michigan for second-most in the country and trailing only Duke.
