Dan Lanning gives injury update on Oregon Ducks TE Kenyon Sadiq

While the level of competition may not have been the highest, Saturday night's 56-10 win over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights was quite possibly the most efficient game the Oregon Ducks have played so far this season. They dominated at every level, amassing 750 yards of total offense and 415 rushing yards, while also causing three turnovers and completely shutting down the opposing offense.

While it was almost all positive on Saturday night for the Ducks, there was one injury concern with a star player. On an impressive touchdown grab in the first half, tight end Kenyon Sadiq came down to the ground awkwardly and was attended to by medical staff on the sideline afterwards.

Sadiq would play sparingly through the rest of the first half, but he was late to emerge from the locker room after the break, and to my knowledge, did not play in the third or fourth quarter. When asked about why Sadiq was held out after the game, head coach Dan Lanning kept things brief.

"It was probably just precautionary on our part," Lanning said.

Sadiq had the best game of his season so far, catching four passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Should he be dealing with an injury, the Ducks are at a point in the season where his missing time wouldn't be too detrimental to the team. In Week 9, Oregon hosts the Wisconsin Badgers, and then they have a bye week before going on the road to face the Iowa Hawkeyes.

We will monitor the situation with Sadiq over the next few days, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see him listed as questionable, or ultimately held out of next week's game against the Badgers while the team tries to get him to full health.
