Michigan's Elliot Cadeau OK ahead of Final Four after hospital visit: 'I ate something that I was allergic to by accident'
INDIANAPOLIS — Michigan point guard Elliot Cadeau appeared to be fine Thursday after receiving treatment for an allergic reaction that caused him to take a trip to the hospital Wednesday afternoon before the team’s trip here for the Final Four.
Though images from outside Michigan’s practice facility showed Cadeau on a stretcher with a white sheet covering his body and face, he said it was not nearly as serious of an incident as it appeared.
“I ate something that I was allergic to by accident,” said Cadeau, who traveled separately from the team after receiving treatment. “It’s happened to me when I was younger. That’s part of the reason I called the — I went to the hospital because when it happened when I was younger, it was really bad. But this time it was like a minor deal.”
Cadeau, who transferred to Michigan from North Carolina this year, said he was good to go and would be practicing Thursday afternoon. He is averaging 10.2 points and 5.8 assists for the Wolverines.
