Rams, Tyler Higbee agree to 2-year deal worth $8 million
Tyler Higbee has decided to put off retirement for at least one more year.
According to multiple reports, the Los Angeles Rams and Higbee have agreed to a two-year extension. The deal is worth up to $8 million, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Higbee was a pending free agent and was considering retirement, but Sean McVay said this week that if the veteran tight end wanted to continue playing, the Rams would be open to bringing him back.
A fourth-round pick in 2016, Higbee has spent all 10 years of his career in Los Angeles. He’s the franchise’s all-time leading tight end in receiving yards with 3,949, also ranking first among tight ends in Rams history with 27 touchdown catches.

Higbee just turned 33 years old and will now enter his 11th season in the NFL, making him the longest-tenured player on the Rams’ roster. Last season, he caught 25 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns, missing seven games due to injury.
It's the second straight year he's missed time with an injury, after sitting out the first 14 games of 2024 following a torn ACL in the Rams' playoff loss to the Lions the season prior.
